Even though I am a dreamer, I find that a bit ironic,
'cause the dreams that paint my pictures are there only when I'm conscious,
Whenever I close my eyes those dreams are just an irritation,
for some reason all I dream about is running circles and inflation.
One day I got fed up with it, and so I asked my brother,
"Hey, what do you dream about?" he said, "I like the ones where I am flying."
I said mine were a bore and he held me tight to stop my sighing,
he said "Just before you go to sleep, think of straight lines and flying."
I close my eyes, and I switch worlds,
from endless paths, to circles,
but maybe I'll remember, and if I am trying,
maybe someday I'll dream of straight lines and flying.
Oh whenever it gets the chance, my brain is always thinking
out a handful of ideas that may sometimes end up stinking,
but even if they're terrible they always turn out right,
you lousy piece of junk why can't you just do that at night?
I close my eyes, and I switch worlds,
from endless paths, to circles,
but maybe I'll remember, and if I am trying,
maybe someday I'll dream of straight lines and flying. (x2)

but I guess I'll never get there man 'cause I am just a dreamer,
